The first call

We ask where the death occurred, who is authorized to make arrangements and whether a hospice, hospital, nursing community or medical examiner is involved. The conversation stays focused on what is needed now.

Transfer and initial care

Once authorization is clear, we coordinate transportation to the funeral home and begin the initial care selected by the family. Timing and next steps are explained before anything proceeds.

The arrangement conference

A funeral director meets with the family to discuss burial or cremation, service preferences, obituary information, authorizations, certificates and itemized costs. Meetings may begin by phone when relatives are in different places.
