01 · START WITH THE CONTEXT
Direct cremation generally includes the professional services and authorizations necessary for cremation, transportation within the provider’s stated area and an alternative container. Additional services or merchandise should be explained separately.
02 · WHAT TO CONSIDER
A service before cremation can include visitation, a formal funeral or a private family goodbye. A memorial service afterward can take place at the funeral home, a place of worship, a community space or another appropriate location.
03 · QUESTIONS TO CARRY FORWARD
Cremated remains may be kept, buried, placed in a niche or scattered where permitted. The funeral director can explain local requirements and help the family document the final plan.
